Wyoming Brewers Festival: June

 

A true celebration of craft beer brings thousands of enthusiasts to Cheyenne's Historic Depot Plaza for the Wyoming Brewers Festival. More than 40 breweries from across Wyoming and neighboring states serve over 100 different beers, with popular local brewers like Freedom's Edge Brewing Co. and Black Tooth Brewing Company offering their signature creations. Festival attendees enjoy a selection of food truck offerings, including wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers, and artisanal tacos, while listening to live performances on the main stage featuring regional rock and country bands.

 

The event typically draws around 5,000 visitors over its two-day run, making it one of Wyoming's largest beer festivals. Special features include a commemorative tasting glass for each attendee, a VIP area with exclusive beer selections, and educational sessions where master brewers share insights about their craft. The festival maintains strong ties to the local community by donating a portion of proceeds to the Cheyenne Depot Museum preservation efforts.

Sheridan Wine Festival: September

Held annual, in downtown Sheridan, the festival promises an evening of fine wine, beer, and spirits tasting. Over 100 different beverages will be available for sampling at Grinnell Plaza, accompanied by endless hors d'oeuvres catered by Olha's Market. The festival features a VIP Champagne Reception on the back patio of Verdello Olive Oils & Fine Foods, limited to 75 guests. Attendees can participate in a silent auction and enjoy various games stationed around the venue.

 

The event's theme, "Sheridan Uncorked," encourages guests to dress in cocktail attire, adding a touch of elegance to the festivities. Proceeds from the festival support community initiatives such as the 3rd Thursday Street Festivals, downtown business promotions, and the Flowers on Main Street program.

Yellowstone Beer Fest: July

A remarkable gathering of craft beer enthusiasts sample from more than 220 different beers poured by 60 diverse breweries at the Yellowstone Beer Fest. Held in downtown Cody's City Park, the festival offers six hours of unlimited tastings featuring everything from crisp pilsners to robust stouts and innovative IPAs. Drawing nearly 4,000 visitors, the celebration pairs exceptional brews with a lineup of popular food trucks serving fresh fare throughout the day.

 

The musical atmosphere kicks off with Fracture, a 90's alternative rock band from Red Lodge, Montana, delivering powerful covers from Pearl Jam, Tool, and No Doubt. Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts bring their outlaw country sound to the stage, channeling the spirit of Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings for an authentic Western performance. The combination of mountain views, extensive beer selection, and dual-genre musical lineup creates one of Wyoming's premier beer celebrations.

 

Jackson Hole Food & Wine Festival: March

This annual culinary event in Wyoming's picturesque mountain town brings together local and guest chefs, winemakers, and beverage experts for a three-day celebration of food and drink. Held at various locations throughout Jackson Hole, including the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the festival features a diverse array of tastings, seminars, and dinners. Attendees can savor signature dishes from top local restaurants paired with a curated selection of wines, beers, and spirits from around the world.

 

The festival's highlight is the Taste of Jackson Hole event, where guests can enjoy stunning views from the top of the mountain while sampling dishes from the finest local eateries. Live music adds to the festive atmosphere, with local Bluegrass favorite One Ton Pig performing at some events. A unique feature of the festival is its commitment to showcasing the best of Jackson Hole's culinary community, making it a true celebration of the region's gastronomic prowess.

 

Wyoming State BBQ Championship & Bluegrass Festival: August

The annual event, held on the third weekend of August, brings together over 25 BBQ teams competing for $15,000 in prizes at the Washakie County Fairgrounds in Worland, Wyoming. This family-friendly festival attracts nearly 2,000 spectators and features a variety of activities, including a car show, brewfest, and a 5K walk/run. Visitors can enjoy mouthwatering BBQ while listening to bluegrass music from bands like The Brothers Parker, Blue Canyon Boys, and Woodbelly.

 

The festival uses a unique "Bone Bucks" currency system for all purchases, ensuring vendors are paid appropriately and maintaining free admission. Special features include a Kids Q competition, a National Guard obstacle course, and a People's Choice Award where attendees can sample and vote for their favorite BBQ.
